Enviromental Design(including interior design and landscape design): Arts, Code: 130503
Educational Conditions: The department has 14 faculty members, including 1 professor and 4 associate professors, consisting of 10 PHD or Master’s degree. Also, there are 3 laboratories: material and model-making, computer graphic design and pottery-making, and the equipment worth is more than 850000 Yuan. 6 teaching practice bases were also built in Beijing, Anhui and Xian etc. The colleage is entitled to confer the Master’s degree in secondary discipline and recruits graduate students in the field, the direction of study including city public art, visual and digital landscape art, modelling aesthetics from landscape.
Major Achievements: In recent years, 6 natural and provincial-level prizes have been awarded to our teachers and the funds of research projects have reached to 500000 Yuan. 51 papers were published in core journals, 3 textbooks were also come out, one the 2nd grade prizes from culture and artistic achievement awards was won. Also, students’ works were awarded and were capped more than 70 times in professional competitions at home and abroad such as “ Shanghai Art Biennale”, and the design’ works were frequently adopted by a broader public.
Main Courses: (1) Interior Design: Principle of Interior Design, Architectural Drawing, Decoration Material and Crafts, Representation Techniques, CAD/3Dmax Computer-aided Design, Human Engineering, Interior Furnishings Design, Living Space Design, Dining Space Design, Commerce and Office Design etc. (2) Landscape Design: 3D and Space Composition, Representation Techniques of Landscape, Computer-aided Design Softs, Landscape Modelling, Landscape Plant configuration, Landscape Hard Material, Landscape Design of Open Space, Landscape Design of Residential Districts, Park Landscape Design, Landscape Design of Leisure and Recreation, and Public Art etc.
Training Goals: (1)Interior Design: The goals are to cultivate students’ comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic, to have a system study for environmental design’ theory and knowledge, to pessess design’ thinking ability and to make environmental design’ methods and skills trained. The students are able to design the indoor & outdoor spaces, and finally become practical and senior specialized person who can be engage in design, study and management in the professional or related field. (2) Landscape Design: The goals are to cultivate students’ comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic, to master the principal theory and knowledge of environmental design, to pessess design thinking ability and to make design’ methods and skills trained. The students can have essencial ability to conduct art innovative design and are able to design the modern urban space, landscape, living enviroment etc., and finally become practical and senior specialized person who can be engage in landscape’ design, study and management and so on.
